In the late 80s, Ken took a small percentage in a startup venture which became a self storage company. Over the years, the investment and business grew until 1997 when a third location was found. Around this time, and Ken took a primary role in overseeing the development of this site. By, 2000, Ken’s partner wanted to retire, and Ken went on to become the sole shareholder.
Ken continued overseeing the managment of both firms until 2004. It became apparent that the real estate property business was a better path to long term security. Ken successfully operated each of those firms until selling the valuation business, to a senior partner in 2004.
At this point, Ken was devoting full time to A Space Place Self Storage, and it grew more with greater focus. In 2017 Ken sold to a larger regional self storage firm.
At this time, Ken’s attention is devoting more time to the investment business as well as philanthropic opportunities. Secondly it is the time in life for Ken to spend more time with family, travelling and growing a more strategic, diversified and sophisticated portfolio .
